Appointment Offerings 

Daniel will be closing his private practice in Canberra at the end of July in preparation for long-service leave and a move overseas. His books are closed to new clients. Appointments will continue to be offered to existing (current and former) clients until 30 July.

A standard consultation is 50 minutes, and can be booked as an online video consultation, phone consultation, or in-clinic consultation, depending on current COVID-19 restrictions. Video and in-clinic consultations are preferred.


Existing Clients

Existing clients can book an appointment through Daniel’s online booking system (Halaxy).

Prospective Clients

If Daniel’s books are open, prospective clients are invited to contact him to enquire about booking an initial appointment. If his books are closed, the directories on the Australian Psychological Society or Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute websites may assist these clients with their search for an alternate therapist.

Waiting List

If you are an existing client and are unable to find a suitable appointment time on Daniel’s online booking system, contact him and ask to be put on the waiting list. Let him know if you have any preferences in regards to days and times, and also, if you would like to book a video, in-clinic, or phone consultation.

When an appointment becomes available, you’ll be notified by text message. Please reply promptly to support the waiting list booking process.

Note that Daniel does not keep a waiting list for new clients.

Fees and Medicare Benefits

Fees and Medicare benefits are processed through Halaxy. Consultation and service fees will be charged to your debit / credit card. Medicare rebates will be paid into the bank account that you have registered with Medicare.

DVA Health Cards (Gold and White) are also accepted as payment upon a valid GP referral.

Appointment Changes, Cancellations, and Non-Attendances 

You can manage your appointment by clicking on the Appointment link in text messages and emails sent from Halaxy.

Please aim to provide at least 2 business days notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. A service fee may be charged for non-attendance and appointments that are cancelled or rescheduled with 0 to 24 hours notice. Daniel may waive this fee if the appointment is cancelled with reasonable notice due to injury or illness, or if it is able to be filled by another client.

Please do not attend an in-clinic consultation if you have symptoms of cold or flu or are required to isolate or quarantine in relation to COVID-19. Instead, if you feel well enough to attend, contact Daniel to change the appointment to a phone or video consultation.

The occasional missed appointment or late-cancellation is fine, but Daniel is unable to offer ongoing appointments to clients who repeatedly miss their appointments or cancel / reschedule with 0 to 24 hours notice.

Note that most third-party funders do not cover service fees for late-cancellation and non-attendance. In these cases, clients will be invoiced and charged directly.
